Jeanette Hampton Miller of Naples left her earthly body for Heaven shortly after midnight on Tuesday, October 3, 2023. As she wished, she died at home.

She was born in Cornett on August 17, 1933, to Sallie Collins Hampton and Peet Hampton. She was raised in the Cornett area and attended Cornett school until she moved to Dalton at the age of 10 to live with her aunt and uncle. She graduated from Naples High School in 1951.

Jeanette met Troy Miller of Bryans Mill, Texas, at the old Inez Movie Theater in Naples. They married on June 2, 1956, and moved to the Dallas-Ft. Worth area, where they lived for several years before they returned to Naples. They were blessed to share 40 years of marriage together before his death on June 7, 1996. She spent the next 27 years missing her Troy.

She was preceded in death by her husband Troy; her parents Sallie and Peet Hampton; two infant brothers Robert and Walter; brothers James and Whitfield Hampton; sisters and brothers-in-law Mary Lee and Travis Thomas, Ella Mae and Arthur Penney, and H.L. and Rena Faye Lobdell, all of Naples; brother and sister-in-law George and Koleta Hampton of Daingerfield; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Jack and Lucille Pace of Gray Court, SC, A.L. and Faye Brandon of Texarkana, TX, Jim and Josephine Goodson of Doddridge, AR.

Left to cherish their memories of her are children Marilyn Lopez of San Antonio and Max Miller of Naples, grandchildren Caitlin Lopez of San Antonio, Cortney and Stebin John of Converse, Chase and Haley Lopez of San Juan, TX, and Shelby and Austin Feltner of Bedias, TX, great-grandchildren Kambri and Hoyt Feltner of Bedias, and brother and sister-in-law Gerald and Alicia Hampton of Marshall, along with numerous other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 6 at Harrison Funeral Home in Naples. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 7 at First Baptist Church in Naples. Burial will follow at Cornett Cemetery.
