Obituary

Jerry Ray Tigert, age 72, of Naples, Texas, passed away Monday, March 9, 2020 in Plano, Texas.  Jerry was born March 17, 1947, in Naples, Texas, to Joe Tigert and Thelma Carruth Tigert.

Jerry was a member at Concord Baptist Church in Omaha.  He retired from Mac Haik Chevrolet in Houston where he was a salesman for 38 years.  Jerry served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam war.  He was a member of the 247 9 th infantry division.  He was a member of the VFW Post 182 in Katy and served as a volunteer for the Westlake Fire Department for 28 years.  Jerry enjoyed knife-making, hunting, and fishing.  He loved being at his farm.

Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Paula Wyninegar Tigert in 2015; one daughter, Jennifer Crittenden; one brother, Bobby Tigert; and three sisters, Mary Jane Hoskins, Nell Bisang, and Wilma Jo Vissering.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Ross Duncan of Houston; two sisers, Kathryn Hicks of El Paso and Frankie Berry of Naples; two grandchildren, Kaitlin Southard and Brayden Duncan; and numerous other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Harrison Funeral Home in Naples.  Funeral services will be at 4:00 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2020 at Concord Baptist Church in Omaha with Rev. Nolan Richey and Mike Kelly officiating.  Interment will follow at Concord Cemetery in Omaha.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Concord Cemetery in Omaha.
