James (Jim) Douglas Martin, age 78, of Naples, Texas, passed away Saturday, October 2, 2021, at his home. Jim was born August 25, 1943, in Dallas, Texas to James Eric Martin and Wanda Ladene Show Martin.

Jim spent his working life in the Dallas/Ft Worth Metroplex area where he started an industrial supply business.  He was a United States Air Force Veteran. Jim was a private pilot and loved aviation.  He enjoyed working on many projects. He created a beautiful small private lake for all his family to enjoy. One of his greatest joys was working on and building airplanes. He also spent time restoring a Jeep and a Porshe 914. Jim was also a very talented woodworker. He enjoyed hunting and loved to travel. He had a special place in his heart for the land of New Mexico. Jim was a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, the Experimental Aircraft Association, the American Legion, and the Vans Air Force.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Gary S. Martin.

He is survived by his three children, James (Sherrie) Martin Jr. of Marietta, TX, Paula (Greg) Cooke of Monument, Co, Craig (DeAnne) Martin of Decatur, TX and former spouse, Juliana Martin of Naples, TX.  He was greatly loved by his 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Harrison Funeral Home, Naples, Texas.
