James Russell "Jim" Spencer, age 77, of Omaha, Texas, passed away August 13, 2021 in Dallas, Texas.  Jim was born August 2, 1944 in Port Arthur, Texas to Johnnie William Spencer, Sr. and Maveline Russell Spencer.

Jim graduated from Pewitt High School in 1962.  He spent 4 years in the US Navy during the Vietnam War.  He was aboard the aircraft carrier USS Coral Sea.  Some of Jim's many jobs were at his parents' grocery store, Lone Star Steel, and the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.  He enjoyed gardening, especially growing tomatoes.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include one brother, Johnnie William "Bill" Spencer, Jr. and wife Pam of Germantown, Tennessee; one son, Russell Spencer of Naples; three stepsons, Chris Spencer, Jason Spencer, and Joe Spencer; two stepdaughters, Teri Delbosque and Toni Harding and husband Eddie; one granddaughter, Alexis Spencer; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Harrison Funeral Home in Naples, Texas.  Interment will follow at Springhill Cemetery in Naples.  Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the funeral service.
