Elsie Joan Clair, age 84, of Omaha, Texas, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2022, in Longview, Texas. Joan was born February 2, 1938 to Robert Glenn Davis and Elsie Eavenson Davis near Waynesville, North Carolina, in the small community of Saunook, surrounded by the beautiful Smoky Mountains.

In 1953, Joan's family moved to Tyler, Texas where she finished Jr. High.  She attended East Texas Baptist Church.  While she was there, she accepted the Lord Jesus Christ and was baptized.  They moved to Lone Star in 1955, and she joined the Lone Star Baptist Church.  One Sunday night, during training union, a handsome young man from Omaha attended.  He later became her husband.  They were married for 66 years.

Preceding Joan in death was her parents; two very special and loved step-mothers, Myrtle Davis and Irene Parker Davis; her sister, Dawn Kamin, her brothers, Glenn Davis and R.A. Davis; and grandson, James Aaron Berry.

Survivors include her husband, Forrest Clair; four children, Sally Cobb, Jackie Clair, Michael Clair, and Stacey Hall; grandchildren, Brittany Skinner and husband Josh, Colton Clair and wife Katie, Brooke Clair, Jeff Berry, Alexa Hall, Alyia Hall, Alysa Hall, and granddaughter-in-law, Kristi Berry; eight great-grandchildren, Claire and Caroline Skinner, Grace and Michael Berry, Wade Berry, Jolie Berry, and Luke and Audrey Cain; sister-in-law, Lynn Davis; brother-in-law, Max Kamin; and numerous other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Harrison Funeral Home in Naples.  Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 11, 2022 at Harrison Funeral Home in Naples with Dr. Mike Amerson and Dr. Ken Cox officiating.  Interment will follow at Omaha Cemetery in Omaha.
