Jodie Clifton Obenoskey, age 90, of Simms, Texas, passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at his home. Jodie was born April 17, 1930 in Simms to Jodie William Obenoskey and Viola Mae Coleman Obenoskey.
Jodie retired from Red River Army Depot where he worked as an inspector/identifier. He attended Harvest Temple Church in Simms. Jodie was a lifelong farmer and rancher. He enjoyed tending to his garden and raising cattle. When his sons were younger, Jodie coached their little league baseball teams. Jodie also enjoyed fishing.
Jodie was preceded in death by his wife, Goldie Obenoskey; his parents; two sons, Larry Obenoskey and David Obenoskey; five brothers, Joe Obenoskey, Chuck Obenoskey, Norris Obenoskey, Donnie Obenoskey, and Milton Obenoskey; and one sister, Opal Green.
Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law, Perry and GuJuan Obenoskey of Bassett, Texas, Rodney and Mindy Obenoskey of Simms, Billy and Vicki Obenoskey of Simms, and Charlie Obenoskey and Tonia Lee of Simms; one sister, Mary Derue of New Boston, Texas; ten grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Harrison Funeral Home in Naples, Texas. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 25, 2021 at Harrison Funeral Home in Naples with Bro. Shannon Crawford and Bro. Steve Minter officiating. Interment will follow at Ward's Creek Cemetery in Simms.
