John Paul Vissering, age 89, of Naples, Texas, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2017 in Denison, Texas. John Paul was born July 15, 1928 in Naples, Texas to Herman Raleigh Vissering and Jessie Lewis Vissering.

John Paul was a member at First Baptist Church in Naples, Texas. He retired from Lone Star Steel where he was a heavy equipment operator. John Paul was a 33 ^rd degree Scottish Rite Mason. He was also a former member of the Wildflower Square Dancers. John Paul was a life-long rancher.

John Paul was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Wilma Jo "Sis" Vissering in 2015; his parents, Jack and Jessie Vissering; one brother, Wes Vissering; and one sister, Marie Adcock.

Surviving family members include one son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Linda Vissering of Sherman, Texas; two daughters and sons-in-law, Paulette and Terry Roach of Harker Heights, Texas, and Janet and Dean Bryant of League City, Texas; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Naples, Texas with Rev. Nolan Richey officiating. Interment will follow at Concord Cemetery in Omaha, Texas. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the church, prior to the funeral.
