Johnny Ray Ramsey, age 77, of Omaha, Texas, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2026, in Mount Pleasant, Texas. Johnny was born September 14, 1948, in Bloomburg, Texas, to Albert Preston Ramsey and Johnnie Louise Heard Ramsey.

Johnny was a lifelong rancher. He was a United States Army Veteran. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and tending to his cows.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Wade Ramsey; one sister, Beth Ramsey; one brother, Howard Ramsey; one niece, Billi Ann Scott; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Bill and Betty Hammonds; and two brothers-in-law, Billy Wayne Hammonds and Randy Hammonds.

Survivors include his wife, Deborah Ramsey of Omaha; one son, Cory Ramsey of San Antonio, Texas; one brother and sister-in-law, Edwin and Sue Ramsey of Simms, Texas; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Betty Jane Cannon of Texarkana, Texas, and Rebecca “Becky” and Cookie Gillean of Mount Pleasant; two grandsons, Hunter Ramsey and wife Megan of Naples, and Gannon Smith and wife Terri of Naples; three great-grandchildren, Tinleigh Ramsey, Callie Wade Ramsey, and Renley Kay Ramsey; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, September 13, 2026, at First Baptist Church Omaha in Omaha, Texas.
