Joyce Denny Charlton, age 84, of Omaha, Texas, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2019 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas.  Joyce was born March 18, 1935, in Mt. Pleasant, Texas, to William Lester and Eula Capel Denny.

Joyce was a member of Daniels Chapel Congregational Methodist Church in Naples.  She was still working as a librarian at the Naples Library as her health would allow.  She enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling (especially cruises), playing cards and games, and those slot machines.  She loved spending time with her family and friends.  Nothing pleased her more than to laugh and socialize.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, William Floyd Charlton; her parents; two brothers, Clifton and Orville Denny; two sisters, Hazel Martin and Willie Mae Townsend; and one grandson, Jamie McGimpsey.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Ellen Charlton of Plano, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law, Pennie and Rocky Hitchcock of Omaha, Texas; her twin sister, Floyce McElyea of Winnsboro, Texas; two granddaughters, Holly Penny and husband Cody, and Kristy Greene; one grandson, Jesse Hitchcock; eight grandchildren, Ethan Penny, Jade Hitchcock, Derek Hitchcock, Isaiah Hitchcock, Justin Brown, Jericho McGimpsey, Kandi McGimpsey, and Kali McGimpsey; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at Harrison Funeral Home in Naples, Texas.  Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at Daniels Chapel Congregational Methodist Church in Naples with Bro. Nolan Richey and Bro. Tim Anderson officiating.
