Joyce Jaynell Laywell, age 89, of Omaha, Texas, passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2020 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas.  Joyce was born November 8, 1931 in the Flat Creek community of Marietta, Texas to William Ernest Vaughn and Selena Welsh Vaughn.

Joyce was a member at Oak Ridge Baptist Church in Marietta.  She was a homemaker.  In her younger years, she enjoyed playing volleyball and dancing.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Laywell; one son, Lester Laywell; one daughter, Cathy Laywell; two sisters, Lena Francis Floyd and Lucy Dean McCord.

Survivors include one special niece, Rhonda Bozman; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, December 18, 2020 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Bryans Mill with Damon Hodges officiating.
