Obituary

JW "Sonny" Harrison, age 76, of Naples, Texas, passed Monday, September 20, 2021 in Texarkana, Texas. Sonny was born June 17, 1945, in Bryans Mill, Texas to Thomas Wesley Harrison and Sammie Lou Lee Harrison.

Sonny retired from Red River Army Depot where he was a firefighter and paramedic.  He was a United States Army Veteran.  Sonny was a member at First Baptist Church in Naples.  He was a former member of the Naples Volunteer Fire Department and a former Naples City Council member.  He was also a Master Mason.  Sonny was a very talented mechanic and was a "Jack of All Trades" as well.  He enjoyed gardening, riding horses, and tinkering with antique tractors and equipment.  Years ago, Sonny enjoyed dirt track racing and watching boxing.

Sonny was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Harrison; his parents; one brother, Tommie Ray Harrison; and three sisters, Patsy Owen, Bobbie Lou Day, and Clarabelle Harrison.

Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Harrison of Naples; one daughter, Tracy Harrison of Naples; one son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Ellen Harrison of Aransas Pass, Texas; two stepdaughters and one step-son-in-law, Teri DelBosque of Omaha, Texas and Toni and Eddie Harding of Omaha; five grandchildren, Brittany Guidroz, Christopher Bain, Jeremy Thompson, Luke Harrison, and Jeremy Harrison; two great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 24, 2021 at Harrison Funeral Home in Naples with Bro. Dwaine Higgins officiating.  Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Bryans Mill.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Harrison Funeral Home in Naples.
