Karen Sue Icenhower, age 74, of Longview, Texas, passed away Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at her home. Karen was born June 13, 1947, in Naples, Texas to Richard Robert Towler, Sr. and Mary Merle Golden Towler.
Karen was a member of First Baptist Church in Naples. She retired from Sanger-Harris where she worked as an administrative assistant. She was a former member of the Women's League in Hope, Arkansas, was a former cub scout and Brownies leader, and she volunteered at Rockwall High School when her children were in school. Karen loved dogs and birds, making arts and crafts, and taking care of her family.
Karen was preceded in death by her husband, Trent Whatley; her parents; and one brother, Mike Towler.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Jon and Johnette Icenhower of Seabrook, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law, Kristi and Eric Montgomery of Longview; one brother, Rick Towler of Naples; one sister-in-law, Sondra Towler of Naples; four grandchildren, Aubrey Williams and husband Julian, Kaylee Montgomery, Jessye Montgomery, and Jaxsen Montgomery; one great-grandchild, Parker Williams; one niece, Krisi Crawford; two nephews, Mark Towler and Kevin Towler; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 26, 2021 at Harrison Funeral Home in Naples. Interment will follow at Omaha Cemetery in Omaha, Texas. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the funeral.
