Obituary

Karin Ursula Martin, age 75, of Naples, Texas, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2018, in Longview, Texas. Karin was born November 12, 1942 in Berlin, Germany.

Karin was a member at Daniels Chapel Congregational Methodist Church in Naples. She retired from Redbud Retreat Nursing Home in Naples after many years of service. Prior to marrying, Karin served as an Au Pair in England, and as a nurse in Germany. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and volunteered with the Red Cross in Barstow, California. Karin loved reading and fishing, and spent a lot of time caring for her grandchildren.

Karin was preceded in death by her parents, Gunter Schulz and Erna Elizabeth Krause Schulz; one son, James Patrick Martin; and one granddaughter, Elizabeth Martin.

Surviving family members include her husband of 52 years, Marlin Martin of Naples; one daughter, Susan Comer of Naples; one son and daughter-in-law, Tracy and Dawn "Sissy" Martin of Naples; one son-in-law, Mike Comer of Naples; six grandchildren, Ashley Newton and husband Craig, Kathryn Derby and husband Nick, Patrick Martin, James Comer, Kimberly Martin, and David Comer; one great-grandson Charlie Newton; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Daniels Chapel Congregational Methodist Church in Naples with Bro. Tim Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Omaha Cemetery in Omaha. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 26, 2018 at the funeral home.
