LaFaye Hackney, age 91, of Longview, Texas, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2016 in Longview, Texas. LaFaye was born September 23, 1925 in Greeneville, Tennessee to David and Bertie Lawing.

LaFaye was a retired beautician. She was a member at Living Word Church in Kilgore, Texas. LaFaye loved quilting, gardening, and collecting

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Hackney; her parents; and nine brothers and sisters.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Sandra Hackney of Mt. Vernon, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law, Jeanne and Larry Quattlebaum of Hickory Creek, Texas; three grandchildren, Patricia Hollingsworth, Jennifer Cowen, and Ryan Autrey; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and numerous other relatives.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 22, 2016, at the funeral home. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. at Wards Creek Cemetery in Simms, Texas with Bro. Lee Bryant officiating.
