Mona Lanell Hawkins, age 92, of Marietta, Texas, passed away Friday, January 11, 2019, in Hughes Springs, Texas.  Lanell was born November 2, 1926 in Acme, Texas to Dewey Waymon Hawkins and Ruie Elizabeth Lee Hawkins.

Lanell was a member at Oak Ridge Baptist Church in Marietta.  She worked for many years as a clerk at the store in Marietta.  She was a member of the Marietta Community Association. Lanell loved people, and she also loved animals.  Once she went to the nursing home, she enjoyed all the activities there, even playing the tambourine.

Lanell was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Waymon Hawkins; and one sister, Durene Wood.

Survivors include a host of adopted family and special friends.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Harrison Funeral Home in Naples with Dr. Chas Carlisle officiating.  Interment will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Marietta.
