Larry Gorden Betts, age 64, of Naples, Texas, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2019 in Texarkana, Texas.  Larry was born September 3, 1955, in Naples, to Doyce Wesley Betts and Alice Florence Ghoulson Betts.

Larry retired from the Red River Army Depot Fire Department where he was Captain.  He was also a member of the Naples Volunteer Fire Department, formerly serving as Fire Chief.  He was the Emergency Service Management Coordinator for Morris County, and the Fire Marshal for the City of Naples as well as the Fire Marshal/Investigator for the Naples Fire Department.  He was also a member of the State Firefighters' and Fire Marshals' Association of Texas.  Larry devoted his life to helping others.  Larry loved all kinds of racing, especially drag racing and mud racing, and he also enjoyed hunting.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly Betts of Naples; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Wesley and Cheyenne Betts of Diana, Texas and Matthew Betts of Naples; one daughter, Holly Best of Naples; one brother and sister-in-law, David and Donna Betts of Naples; seven grandchildren, Clayton, Makalynn, Patrick, Shelby, Emi, Ollie, and Chase; three great-grandchildren, Brextyn, Cammie, and Alice; his first wife, Brenda Martin Betts; his pup-pups, Zac and Stella; and numerous other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life service will be at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Harrison Funeral Home in Naples with Brody Woodard officiating.  In honor of Larry, please wear your respective fire department attire.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Naples Volunteer Fire Department.
