Ora Louise Surratt
Louise was a long time resident of Omaha, she was born here on August 6, 1923 to Joe and Clyde Clayton. Louise passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016. Louise was married to Orvel Lee Surratt on July 12, 1942, to them were born three children that they loved unconditionally. Orvel and Robbie her eldest son preceded her in death along with her three little brothers J.T., Frank and Jeff. Louise is survived by a daughter in law Betsie Surratt of Lindale, Texas, a son and daughter in law Donnie and Vickie Surratt of Mt. Vernon, Texas and a daughter Connie and her husband Willard Johnson of Bonham, Texas. To this special lady seven grandchildren were given Andrea Reynolds, Monica Treadway, Melissa Manning , Clint Surratt , Robbie Lee Surratt, Shellie Wallis and Cramer Johnson. In addition she was blessed with seventeen great grandchildren: Matt, Zach, Blake, McKenzie, Samantha, Dylan, Ryder, Ryann, Tyler, Kyesen, Cody, Sydney, Ethan, Collins, Katy, Payton, and Graham. She was also survived by three sister-in-laws: Delores Surratt, Erma Gean Clayton, Reita Clayton, Sue Clayton and many other relatives and good friends.
Her pride and joy was each and every member of her immediate and extended family. She loved to cook and was never happier than when she spent hours preparing meals and having her family put their feet under her table. Each grandchild was always prepared their favorite food from Chocolate pies to candied sweet potatoes and anything in between. Louise was a creative, talented woman that loved to crochet and design/create beautiful Christmas decorations. Her family was blessed to have her for 92 years, so now they rejoice to know that she has gone on to spend eternity with her Lord and Savior and the loved ones whom she has missed for years.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2016 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Concord Missionary Baptist Church in Omaha, Texas with Rev. Nolan Richey and Rev. Glenn Griffith officiating. Interment will follow at Concord Cemetery in Omaha.
