Obituary

Luragean Wallace Smith, age 85, of Omaha, Texas, passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2019 in Omaha. Luragean was born March 23, 1934, in Omaha, Texas, to Harold H. Wallace and Gena Wannamaker Farrier Wallace.

Luragean was a member at the First United Methodist Church in Omaha.  She was the receptionist at East Texas Clinic in Naples for many years, and also worked as a floral designer.  Luragean was a member of the first graduating class of Paul Pewitt High School in 1951.  She was a very talented artist, and took art classes at NTCC until she wasn't able to attend.  She loved to travel, having been on numerous cruises.  Luragean was very instrumental in getting the Omaha Museum started, and loved to visit it on a regular basis.

Luragean was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Ray Smith; her parents; one brother, Eddie Wallace; and one sister, Betty Jo Craker.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Michael LeRoy of Omaha; one son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Brenda Smith of Mt. Pleasant; four grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; special cousin, Jerry Williams; special friend, Janet Sue Tucker; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 8, 2019 at Omaha Cemetery in Omaha with Bro. Bryan Hawkins officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Omaha Museum or the Omaha Cemetery Association.
