Obituary

Maborn Wesley Gray, Jr., age 92, of Omaha, Texas, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2017 at his home. Maborn was born September 12, 1925 in Fort Worth, Texas to Maborn Wesley Gray, Sr. and Mayme Mote Burkhead Gray.

Maborn was a member at First Baptist Church in Omaha. He retired from the Dallas Fire Department after serving many years as a firefighter. He truly enjoyed his career as a firefighter. Maborn was a World War II veteran, proudly serving in the U.S. Army. Over the years, he painted houses and enjoyed building birdhouses. He also loved going camping.

Maborn was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Bobby Gray and Jerry Gray.

Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Jean Gray of Omaha; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Linda Gray of Omaha, and Gary and JoAnne Gray of Hooks, Texas; six grandchildren, David Gray, Darrell Gray, Gabriel Gray, Heather Whisenhunt, Austin Gray, and Arthur Gray; sixteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Harrison Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Nolan Richey and Rev. Keith Lauter officiating. Interment will follow at Omaha Cemetery in Omaha.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church in Omaha.
