Madeline Hazel Lawings, age 73, of Marietta, Texas, passed away Thursday, February 3, 2022, in Mt. Pleasant, Texas.  Madeline was born July 15, 1948, in Linden, Texas, to Allen Boyd "Dick" Lawings and Winnie Mae Smith Lawings.

Madeline was a homemaker.  She enjoyed cooking, putting puzzles together, and watching football.  Madeline loved visiting with her friends.

Madeline was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Jeffery Smith; one daughter, Melissa Peace; one sister, Darlene Lawings; and her two best friends, Alice Fae Williams and Sandra Heard.

Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Freddy Dorough, Jr. and De'Anna Runyan of Marietta and John David Rust of Marietta; two daughters, Teresa Davis of Lone Star, Texas and Dace Ann Martin of Longview, Texas; two brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Jo Lawings of Naples and Teddy and Becky Lawings of Naples; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Hope and Donald Cook of Marietta and Joy Perez of Marietta; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 6, 2022 at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Marietta with Dr. Chas Carlisle and Rev. Robby Richardson officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oak Ridge Cemetery Association.
