Maria Olimpia Olvera-Rubio, age 64, of Omaha, Texas, passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2015, in Longview, Texas. Mrs. Olvera was born December 17, 1950 in El Vicario, Guanajuato, Mexico to Julian Rubio and Guadalupe Rubio-Vasquez.

Maria was a homemaker. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, cooking, sewing and going to garage sales. She was a giver, and was consistent with her love. She loved her grandchildren. She attended First Baptist Church in Omaha, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her mother.

Maria is survived by her husband of 46 years, Pedro Olvera of Omaha, her father, Julian Rubio of Mexico; six daughters and five sons-in-law, Carmen and Shannon Derrick of Omaha, Elisa and Scott Henninger of Omaha, Rosio and Matt Newton of Longview, Jodie and Joshua Crowder of Pittsburg, Sandra and Darren Bateman of Kemmerer, Wyoming; and Vicki Olvera of Houston; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Salvador and Irma Rubio of Rockford, Illinois, and Presiliano and Daria Rubio of Mineola, Texas; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Maria and Marcos Ontiveros of Mexico, and Emilia and Pedro Sanchez of Mexico; eight grandchildren, Dalton Derrick, Heath Derrick, Aiden Henninger, Olympia "Pia" Newton, Connor Bateman, Ryker Bateman, Braylynn Crowder, and Jakylynn Crowder; y mucho primos y primas especiales.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2015, at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 19, 2015, at First Baptist Church Omaha with Rev. Keith Lauter and Phillip Kelley officiating. Interment will follow at Concord Cemetery in Omaha.
