Laura Marie Doggett, age 87, of Naples, Texas, passed away Saturday, September 26, 2015, in a Hughes Springs, Texas nursing home. Mrs. Doggett was born January 29, 1928 in Naples, Texas to Odis and Versey Jacobs Cobb.

Marie was a homemaker. She was a devout Christian at Fellowship Baptist Church in Daingerfield, Texas. She served as a Sunday school teacher for 60 years, was a member of the church Mission Board, and instrumental in starting many churches.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Mike Doggett; two brothers, Odis Cobb, Jr. and Ronald Cobb; and two sisters, Charlene Jaynes and Thelma Reeves.

Surviving family members include her husband of 69 years, Clarence Doggett of Naples, Texas; one brother, Marshall "Tiny" Cobb of Naples, Texas; two sisters and brother-in-law, Mary and James Carpenter of Naples, Texas and Bernice Higgins of Naples, Texas; two grandchildren, Michelle Verburgt and Rick Doggett; two great-grandchildren, Alex Lunsford and Kyle Callahan; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 29, 2015, at Daniels Chapel Congregational Methodist Church. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 29, 2015, at Daniels Chapel Congregational Methodist Church with Rev. Tim Anderson and Rev. Bryan Peck officiating. Interment will follow at Daingerfield Cemetery in Daingerfield, Texas.
