Marshal Eugene Wommack, age 85, of Marietta, Texas, passed away Sunday, March 26, 2017 in a Texarkana, Texas hospital. Marshal was born January 10, 1932 in Dalton, Texas to James Herman Wommack and Ethel Ewildi Jenkins Wommack.

Marshal was a member at Oak Ridge Baptist Church in Marietta. He was a U.S. National Guard Veteran.  He retired from Hamblem Tire Company in Dallas, where he was a mechanic. Upon retiring and moving back to Marietta, Marshal became the caretaker of Oak Ridge Cemetery, a job in which he took pride. Marshal enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening. He was an avid outdoorsman.

Marshal was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, E.B. Wommack and James Wommack.

Surviving family members include his wife of 64 years, Ruthie Wommack of Marietta; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ted and Sandra Wommack of Garland, and Dale Wommack and Pam McCollum of Rockwall; six grandchildren, Joey Wommack, Michael Wommack, Stacie Entzminger, Jason Wommack, Justin Wommack, and Jessica Wommack; five great-grandchildren, Brennan Wommack, Jacob Entzminger, Josiah Entzminger, Jessup Entzminger, and Peyton Scott; and numerous other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at Oak Ridge Baptist Church in Marietta with Rev. Chas Carlisle officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Marietta.
