Martha Ann Rapier, 72, of Naples, Texas, died Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at her home, surrounded by her family following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Rapier was born September 15, 1943, in Cayuga, Texas to Viola and Robert Eggleston.

Martha was a member of First Baptist Church, Naples, Texas, where she worked for 23 years until her health forced her to retire.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Viola and Robert "R.L." Eggleston, one nephew, Joshua Miles; two brothers-in-law, James Rapier and Billy Rapier; and two sisters-in-law, Jackie Hamby and Dorothy Homan.

Surviving family members include her husband of 52 years, Shelley Gene Rapier of Naples; one son, Billy Rapier of Dallas; one daughter, Terri Rapier Layne of Texarkana; one grandson, Shannon Edwards of Texarkana; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Marvin Ray and Mary Eggleston of Dallas, Marion Lee and Shirley Eggleston of Midlothian, Texas, and Raymond and Ellen Eggleston of Winfield; five sisters and three brothers-in-law, Bertha and Don Cole of Naples, Francis Eggleston of Athens, Nancy Eggleston of Cayuga, Bobbie and John Miles of Athens, and Alice and Jesse Herrera of Cayuga; one sister-in-law, Sheila Henderson of Pearland; one brother-in-law, Hughwill and Betty Rapier of Dallas; many nieces and nephews; and her best friend, Joyce England of Naples.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 13, 2016 at Harrison Funeral Home in Naples, Texas, with Bro. Bryan Peck officiating. A private graveside service will be held at a later date to bury her ashes by her parents in Cayuga, Texas. Her family will have a visitation to celebrate her life from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 13, 2016 at the funeral home.
