Mary Frances Edmonson
Mary was born December 27, 1923 in Naples, Texas to Lawrence and Mina McMichael. She passed away on October 19, 2020 at the age of 96.
Mary graduated from Naples High School where she played basketball.
On August 4, 1946, she married David Williams Edmonson. She was a homemaker and loved gardening, shelling peas, canning and cooking. She was a great cook.
Mary was also an avid golfer. She played in numerous golf tournaments and won many trophies. She won the Women's Club Championship at Beaver Brook Country Club several times.
One of Mary's greatest joys was watching football, especially the Paul Pewitt Brahmas.
Mary was a member of the Rocky branch Church of Christ and the Naples Church of Christ.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, David W. Edmonson; her parents; and her brothers, Lloyd McMichael and Perry McMichael.
Survivors include two sons and daughter-in-law, Roger and Heide Edmonson and David Michael and Kathy Edmonson of Naples; six grandchildren, Melissa Wright of Naples, Marty Edmonson and wife CiCi of Naples, Melodie Lawings and husband Troy of Naples, Kevin Edmonson and wife Liz of Spring, Texas, Chris Edmonson and wife Dacia of Bullard, Texas, and Corey Edmonson and wife Stephanie of Naples; fifteen great-grandchildren, Kody Wright and fiancé Nicki Casteel, Tanner Wright, Ashton Edmonson, Ayden Edmonson, Brelee Lawings and fiancé Averett Griffith, Kade Lawings, Greg Edmonson, A.J. Edmonson, Abby Edmonson, Logan Edmonson, Ben Edmonson, Zach Edmonson, Tyler Edmonson, Katie Edmonson, and London Edmonson; one great-great-granddaughter, Oaklynn Wright; sister-in-law, Rebecca McMichael; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Anyone who knew her thought she was the sweetest lady they knew. She will be deeply missed.
We give special thanks and gratitude to Stephanie, Janet, Kerstin, La Toya, Connie, Maria, Amanda, Slim, and others at Heritage Park Village for their loving care of our Mother. Thankfulness also to Keitha, Britney and Marilyn with Chambers Hospice.
There will be a graveside service at Springhill Cemetery on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. for family and friends.
