Mary Elizabeth Westbrook, age 94, of Irving, Texas, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2017, in Jefferson, Texas. Mary was born August 31, 1923 in Marietta, Texas to Amos Charles Tenbrook and Ruby Capps Tenbrook.

Mary was a member of the Irving Seventh-day Adventist Church where she was head deaconess for many years. She owned and operated her own beauty shop for many years as well. Mary enjoyed gardening and traveling, but she devoted most of her time to her church.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Westbrook; her parents; two sisters, Maxine Tenbrook and Ernestine West; and two brothers, Forrest Tenbrook and Adron Tenbrook.

Surviving family members include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Gary Westbrook of Marietta and Malcolm and Paula Westbrook of Alvarado, Texas; one sister, Juandell Jacobs of Omaha, Texas; seven grandchildren, April Westbrook Grissom and husband Joe, Stephanie Westbrook, Morgan Westbrook Brown and husband Jake, Remington Westbrook, Luke Westbrook and wife Jennifer, Lindsay Westbrook Koh and husband Clayton, and Macy Westbrook; three great-grandchildren, Harrison Roberts, Aspen George-Westbrook, and Caden Koh; three expectant great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 9, 2017 at New Hope Seventh Day Adventist Church in Marietta with Bro. John Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Marietta.
