Mattie Beth Belville, age 73, of Longview, Texas, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2015, in a Longview, Texas hospital. Mrs. Belville was born September 14, 1941, in Texarkana, Texas to Alwyn August Hummel and Ethelyn Bryan Hummel.

She married Howard Walter Belville on July 24, 1966 in Naples. They made a life in the Houston area. Mattie Beth was a speech therapist at the Pasadena School District when living in Houston. Upon returning to the Naples area, she opened The Cherry Tree, a gift shop and arts and crafts store. She loved to teach others to paint and teach them art.

Mattie Beth was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Howard Belville of Longview; several nieces and nephews; and numerous other relatives.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 28, 2015, at the funeral home.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 29, 2015, at Union Chapel Cemetery in Douglassville, Texas.
