Melody Shane Alford, age 60, of Omaha, Texas, passed away Saturday, April 22, 2017 at her home. Melody was born July 13, 1956 in Clintwood, Virginia to Holliday and Gaynell Kelly Mullins.

Melody attended Concord Missionary Baptist Church in Omaha, Texas. She retired from The Naples Monitor newspaper. She enjoyed going out with friends, spending time with her family, and attending all of her son's events.

Melody was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Yolanda Slusher and Linda Farmer; and one stepbrother, Dougie Hibbard.

Surviving family members include her husband, David Alford of Omaha, Texas; one son, Bobby Alford and fiancé Ashton Lambert of Omaha, Texas; stepparents, Carol Sue and Glen Pendleton; two stepbrothers, Carlo Hibbard, Jr. of Benton, Arkansas and Steve Hibbard of Florida; three stepsisters, Tricia Bach of Richmond, Indiana, Barbara Ballenger of Richmond, Indiana, Pamela Rich of Richmond, Indiana; a special cousin, Donnie Mullins of Richmond, Indiana; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Harrison Funeral Chapel with Bro. Nolan Richey officiating. Interment will follow at Springhill Cemetery in Naples, Texas.
