Myrtle Elvira Lowery, age 86, of Daingerfield, Texas, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2017, in Daingerfield, Texas. Myrtle was born October 15, 1931 in Oakland, California to Axel Bernhard Nelson and Selma Angele Anderson.

Myrtle retired from Thiokol Ammunition Plant. She enjoyed watching TV and playing cards. Myrtle won the spelling bee in San Francisco as a youngster.

Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Clarence B. Nelson; and one sister, Alice M. Aaro.

Surviving family members include one daughter and son-in-law, Caren and Ricki Hodges of Marietta, Texas; one granddaughter, Calynn Hodges of Marietta, Texas; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Cremation services are under the direction of Harrison Funeral Home, Naples, Texas.
