Myrtle Lucinda Brock Mixon, age 89, of Longview, Texas, formerly of Naples, Texas, passed away Monday, February 8, 20126, in a Kilgore, Texas nursing center. Mrs. Mixon was born May 29, 1926, in Hughes Springs, Texas to James Oliver Brock and Docia Ray Styles Brock.

Myrtle was a nurse's aide for many years before retiring. She enjoyed making ceramics and other arts and crafts. Myrtle loved her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Odie Mixon in 1988; her parents, three sons, Kenneth Mixon, Pete Mixon, and Johnny Mixon; and one brother, Hollis Brock.

Surviving family members include one daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Bob Alford of Longview; two sons and daughters-in-law, James "Dub" and Kathy Mixon of Mesquite, and Don and Jenny Mixon of Mark, Illinois; twelve grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 12, 2016, at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 13, 2016, at the funeral home chapel with Doug Freeman officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Rondo Cemetery in Texarkana, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Highway 80 mission in Longview.
