Nan Pearce, age 91, of Naples, Texas, died peacefully, May 17, 2017, at her home. She was born December 10, 1925, in Fayette, Missouri.
Nan spent 15 years teaching at the elementary school level. She was a wonderful, loving wife and mother who filled our home with joy and laughter. She will be missed dearly. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Omaha and had a deep love for her Jesus, His church, and a heart for His missions.
Nan was preceded in death by her parents, George R. and Aida A. Stroud; her husband of 62 years, James R. Pearce; one son, James D. Pearce; one sister-in-law, Bernadine Stroud; two brothers-in-law, Charles A. Pearce and Earl K. Jackson.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, John and Patsy Pearce of Denton, Texas; two daughters and sons-in-law, Joanna and Jimmy Griffin of Naples, Texas and Joy and Tommy LePoint of Longview, Texas; one daughter-in-law, Carole Pearce of Alta Loma, California; one brother, G. Russell Stroud, Jr.; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Jackson of Avinger, Texas and Harriett Pearce of San Antonio, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Omaha, Texas with John Pearce and Bro. Keith Lauter officiating. Interment will follow at Hughes Springs Cemetery in Hughes Springs, Texas. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 21, 2017 at the church, prior to the funeral.
