Novelle "Nokie" Carter, age 63, of Simms, Texas, passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2025, in Texarkana, Texas.  Nokie was born June 16, 1962, in Texarkana, Arkansas, to Robert Clayton Carter and Dorothy Belle Taylor Carter.

Nokie worked in the cafeteria at Simms ISD for several years.  She was Baptist in faith.  Nokie enjoyed working in her yard, watching Gunsmoke and Walker Texas Ranger, and spending time with her family and friends.  She loved her dog.

Nokie was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Carol Miller and Velma Durham; and one niece, Annie Durham.

Survivors include two brothers and one sister-in-law, Robert and Francine Carter of Simms and Doyle Carter and Steve Beck of Texarkana; one sister, Francine Carter of Atlanta, Texas; one nephew, Justin Carter of Simms; one niece, Janice Carter of Simms; special friend, Zondra Rhyne of Simms; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 14, 2025 at Sand Hill Cemetery in Simms with Bro. Micah Dawson officiating
