Obituary

Oran Wade "Buddy" Huddleston, age 80, of Naples, Texas, was welcomed into his heavenly home on June 27, 2022. Oran was born on December 15, 1941 in Nashville, Arkansas, to Bhuford Leslie Huddleston and Wilma Olean Arnold Huddleston.

Buddy was a loving husband, daddy, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and brother. He proudly served as a police officer for Brawley PD, worked at Holly Sugar, assorted feed lots, ranches, and was hired by different people and ranches to catch cows. Buddy was baptized at Circle C Cowboy Church in Mount Pleasant, Texas on July 25, 2010. He enjoyed trail rides, roping, dancing, and being with his family and friends.

Buddy was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers-in-law, Charlie Cook, Danny Cate, and Bill Womack; and one nephew, Danny Cate II.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Mary Huddleston of Naples; two daughters and sons-in-law, Margie Leann and Curt Kasper of Killeen, Texas, and Cheryl and Bill Murphy of Naples; one son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Novella Huddleston of Hughes Springs, Texas; five sisters and four brothers-in-law, Mary Cook of Texarkana, Texas, Jeanie and Gary Hinerman of Marietta, Texas, Lynn and Tommy Lovelady of Hughes Springs, Ann and Ronny Golden of Hughes Springs, and Tricia and Billy Weaver of Longview, Texas; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Les "Buster" and Barbara Huddleston of Naples, and Kenny and Jeanna Huddleston of McKinney, Texas; five grandchildren, Oran Cato of Clinton, Iowa, Jon Cato and wife Laura of Princeton, Louisiana, Cody Craig and wife Kristen of Cookville, Texas, Bobby Huddleston, Jr. and wife Morgan of Hughes Springs, Chandler Smith and wife Shay of Mount Pleasant, Texas; seven great grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 30, 2022 at Harrison Funeral Home in Naples. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 1, 2022 at Bar Nun Cowboy Ministries in Omaha, Texas with Bro. Dwaine Higgins officiating. Interment will follow at Cornett Cemetery in Naples.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

He will be greatly missed! Ride those horses in Heaven. Happy trails cowboy!
