Paula Jean Wyninegar Tigert was born January 12, 1949, in Austin, Texas to Clifford and Mildred Wyninegar. She graduated from Paul H. Pewitt High School, Omaha-Naples, Texas in May 1967. She passed from this life to one free of pain on Wednesday, February 25, 2015, in the Katy Memorial Herman Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Wyninegar in 2011, and her daughter, Jennifer Southard June 1, 2014.

Paula is survived by her husband of 47 years, Jerry Ray Tigert and a granddaughter, Kaitlin Southard of Houston; her father, Clifford Wyninegar of Naples; one daughter, Julie Tigert of Houston; brothers, Jimmy Wyninegar of Naples and Johnny Wyninegar of Hawaii; and many other relatives and friends.

She was a member of the Long Point Baptist Church in Houston, and retired from the Katy Independent School District in May 2014, after 20 years in the Mayde Creek and Fielder Elementary Schools, where she worked with special needs children.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 1, 2015, at Concord Missionary Baptist Church in Omaha, Texas, with Paul Cook officiating. Interment will follow at Concord Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2015, at the funeral home.
