Reita Joyce Willtrout Clayton, age 80, of Omaha, Texas, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2017 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. Reita was born September 9, 1936, in Jenkins, Texas to James Bennett Willtrout and Gladys McDuffie Willtrout.
Reita was a member at Concord Missionary Baptist Church in Omaha. She graduated Daingerfield High School in 1955. She retired from Paul Pewitt CISD where she was a bus driver and worked in many other areas. She was a member of the Morris County Retired School Employees Association. Reita enjoyed pictures, reading, and sewing. She was very active in the community for many years and loved people. She was sometimes referred to as the "Information Bureau." Many years ago, she was the church secretary at Concord MBC and she was the chairperson for Omaha's United Fund.
Reita was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Frank Clayton, in 2013; her parents; one son, Robert Clayton, one brother, DJ Willtrout; four sisters, Irma Black, Penny Savage, Lena Esposito, and Jean Witherspoon; and one grandson, Nathan Jackson.
Surviving family members include two daughters and sons-in-law, Frankie and Jerry Jarrell of Powderly, Texas and Nancy and Jerry Fulmer of Roy, Utah; one daughter-in-law, Debbie Clayton of College Station, Texas; Eight grandchildren, Ryan Jarrell of Greenville, Chuck Clayton and wife Kelsie of College Station, Brianne Leggett and husband Matt of Seguin, Stacie Sauer and husband Dave of Cottonwood Heights, Utah, Bennett Jarrell of Paris, Texas, Patrick Clayton and wife Holly of League City, Clayton Jackson and wife Auri of South Ogden, Utah, and Robert Jackson and wife Sarah of North Ogden, Utah; two great-grandchildren, Benjamin Sauer and Addalynn Clayton; and numerous other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 12, 2017 at Harrison Funeral Home in Naples. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Concord Missionary Baptist Church in Omaha with Rev. Nolan Richey officiating. Interment will follow at Concord Cemetery in Omaha.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pewitt Education Foundation or to the Concord Cemetery Association.
