Obituary

Richard Roe Myrtle, age 81, of Omaha, Texas, passed away Thursday, November 11, 2021 at his home.  Richard was born February 15, 1940, in Phoenix, Arizona, to Robert Myrtle and Jessie Pegues Myrtle.

Richard was a member of First Baptist Church in Omaha.  He retired from Lone Star Steel where he worked in the roll shop. Richard was a member of the David Elliott Masonic Lodge in Omaha.  He loved to hunt and fish.  He also enjoyed camping and watching the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers.  Richard loved spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren play ball.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Frances Carpenter; and one nephew, Jeff Carpenter.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Lois Myrtle of Omaha; two sons, Todd Myrtle and wife Lisa of Maud, Texas and Toby Myrtle and wife Lisa of Longview, Texas; one daughter, Dena Teal and Barbara Grieves of Omaha; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Teal and Brittany, Dustin Myrtle and wife Summer, Devin Myrtle, Kendle Myrtle, Whitnee Myrtle, Ethan Myrtle, Tate Boyd, and Graham Boyd; one nephew, Jay Carpenter; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Harrison Funeral Home in Naples  with Dr. Steve Curtis officiating.  Interment will follow at Omaha Cemetery in Omaha.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 13, 2021 at the funeral home, prior to the funeral.
