Robert Clifton Cook passed away Friday, December 16, 2016 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. Robert was born October 22, 1944 in Galveston, Texas to Robert and Alyce Etzel Cook. He graduated from Ball High school in 1963.

His many occupations included a dishwasher at the Hotel Galveston, addressograph operator at American National Insurance, operator for Continental Can Company, owner of a pest control company, manager of an ice company, sales manager for an ice machine company, regional manager for Iceomatic of Denver, Colorado, owner and operator of a grocery store, the Cactus Café, and Robert C's Steakhouse. Robert was a people person and enjoyed working with the public.

He was a past worshipful master of the John Mitchell Lodge in Hitchcock, Texas in 1982-1983. He was a member of the Shriners also. His first 45 years were spent in Galveston and Houston. In 1984, he married Karen Sanders in Chapel Hill, Texas and they have remained best friends and soulmates since. He moved to Omaha, Texas in 1992 and interests included raising cockatiels, emus, and then spotted donkeys. Robert's hobbies included fishing, drumming, playing cards, and movies. Robert was raised in the Baptist faith, but joined Daniels Chapel Congregational Methodist Church in 2001 where he was presently a member. He was also a member of the Omaha Chamber of Commerce, National Federation of Independent Businesses, and an ex director of CCAT.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Jason Cook; a daughter, Schelley Whirley; and a brother, Briscoe Cook.

Surviving family members include his wife, Karen Cook; three granddaughters, Kaci, Tara, and Ally Whirley; and numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.

A celebration of life service will be at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, December 30, 3016 at Harrison Funeral Home chapel in Naples.
