Rocky James Harper, age 26, of Daingerfield, Texas, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2017, in Naples, Texas. Rocky was born July 23, 1990 to Rocky Daniel Harper and Donna Jean Cato.

Rocky was a carpenter. Rocky enjoyed boxing, reading, and history.

Rocky was preceded in death by his father, Rocky Harper; his grandfather, Jerrel Cato; and one brother, Daniel Harper.

Surviving family members include his mother, Donna Matthews of Daingerfield, Texas; two grandmothers, Sue Caughfield of Cookville, Texas and Margaret Cato of Daingerfield, Texas; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Jeff Matthews of Omaha, Texas and Donnie Shawn and Felicia Harkrider of Douglassville, Texas; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Miranda and Billy Joe Tidwell of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, Shonna Harkrider and Bryan Widner of Naples, Texas, and Michelle and Jason Derrick of Omaha, Texas; one uncle, Bubba Cato of Naples, Texas; and numerous other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 6, 2017 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 7, 2017 at Harrison Funeral Home Chapel in Naples. Interment will follow at Liberty Hill Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant.
