Veronica Catherine Campion Griffin died December 26, 2015, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in West Point, New York to George and Johanna Campion. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maj. (Ret) George H. Griffin, Sr. and an infant daughter, Catherine Louise Griffin.

She was a graduate of Ladycliff College of New York, an English teacher, a wonderful mother and homemaker. Mrs. Griffin is survived by five sons and daughters-in-law and five daughters and sons-in-law: George and Paula Griffin of Paris, Texas; Larry and Carol Griffin of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; Dr. James P. and Joanna Griffin of Naples, Texas; Terry and Yvonne Griffin of Converse, Texas; Danny and Vikki Griffin of Dallas, Georgia; Kathy and David Edmonson of Naples, Texas; Nancy and Gerald Williamson of Atlanta, Texas; Patty and Travis Pierce of Heath, Texas; Julie and Randall May of New Boston, Texas; and Beth and Scott McMichael of Naples, Texas. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and a special friend and caregiver, Mary Melton of Bloomburg, Texas.

Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Funeral Liturgy of the Word for Mrs. Griffin will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Daingerfield, Texas with Father Francis O'Dowd officiating. Burial will follow at Union Chapel Cemetery in Douglassville, Texas.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2015, at the funeral home.
