James Ronald "Butch" Hawkins, age 79, of Omaha, Texas, passed away Monday, January 23, 2023, at his home.  Ronnie was born January 10, 1944, in Daingerfield, Texas, to Cleveland Andrew Hawkins and Eula Tucker Hawkins.

Ronnie was a lifelong rancher.  He was baptized and a member at First Baptist Church in Omaha.  He was a United States Army veteran.  Ronnie enjoyed coaching little league baseball when his boys were young.  He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, riding horses, and roping.  Ronnie loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Hawkins; his parents; one daughter, Wendie Hawkins Rountree; and one brother, Rex Hawkins.

Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Dusty and Jaclyn Hawkins of Omaha, and Rocky Hawkins of Omaha; one son-in-law, Robert Rountree of Omaha; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Nancy and C.W. Forsyth of Omaha and Linda and Larry Strube of Pittsburg, Texas; eight grandchildren, Jayce Rountree, Aleea Rountree, Dara McKay Hawkins, James Rance Hawkins, Andrew Lee Hawkins, Josie Ann Hawkins, Rowdy Cleve Hawkins, and Charliegh Ann Hawkins; two great-grandchildren, Jayden Barron and Drayden Jermain Porter; and numerous other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 pm. Sunday, January 29, 2023 at Harrison Funeral Home in Naples, Texas.  Graveside services will be at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 29, 2023 at Omaha Cemetery in Omaha, Texas with Bro. Dwaine Higgins officiating.
