Roy Lee Jones, Jr., age 76, of Marietta, Texas, passed away Monday, May 31, 2021 at his home.  Roy was born December 14, 1944, in Dallas, Texas, to Roy Lee Jones, Sr. and Mary Lometa Wagoner Jones.

Roy was a United States Navy Veteran.  After serving in the Navy, Roy worked as a sales representative for the Miller Brewing Company for many years.  Roy then moved to the Marietta area and became involved in the community there.  He owned and operated the Marietta Movie Club, and he was formerly the mayor of Marietta.  Roy loved sports, all things Texas Longhorns and Dallas Cowboys.  He was also a car enthusiast and loved Ford Mustangs.  He enjoyed listening to old county music as well, pitching horseshoes, and gardening.  Roy loved spending time with his family, and loved to fish in earlier years.  He was also very fond of Labrador Retrievers.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Wanda Jean Pond.

Survivors include three daughters and one son-in-law, Sondra and Brian Corcoran of Centerton, Arkansas, Sarah McGarl of Dunwoody, Georgia, and Jessica Lee Jones of Naples, Texas; one brother, Landon Jones of Dallas; four grandchildren, Katelyn Corcoran, Jacob Corcoran, Matthew McGarl, and Caroline McGarl; one great-grandson, Julian Stuckey; and numerous other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, June 7, 2021 at Harrison Funeral Home in Naples.  Graveside services with military honors will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 10, 2021 at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas.
