Scout Bobby Goodwin, age 22, of Omaha, Texas, passed away Monday, July 24, 2017 in Buda, Texas. Scout was born June 19, 1995 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas to George Allen Goodwin and Crystal Bramlett Goodwin.

Scout was a specialist in the Army National Guard. He joined the National Guard his junior year of high school. Upon graduating from Paul Pewitt High School, Scout returned to the National Guard full-time, and was currently serving. He was a member at South Union Baptist Church in Daingerfield. As a young man, Scout enjoyed fishing and hunting. As he grew up, he taught himself to play guitar and became a very talented guitarist. He and some of his friends started the band, "Waking Up Asleep." Scout also enjoyed playing video games.

Scout was preceded in death by his mother, Crystal Goodwin.

Surviving family members include his father and step-mother, George and Heather Goodwin of Omaha; grandmother, Bobbie Goodwin of Omaha; two sisters, Brittani Stroschein and husband Tyler of Hallsville, Texas, and Schyllar Smith and husband Dustin of Texarkana, Texas; one uncle and aunt, Roger "Doe" and Joan Goodwin of Buda, Texas; nephews and nieces, Hunter, Olivia, and Emma; special friends, Donna and Lydia Godwin of Omaha and Tra Young of Daingerfield; and numerous other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 28, 2017 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Harrison Funeral Chapel in Naples, Texas with Rev. Nolan Richey officiating. Interment will follow at Concord Cemetery in Omaha.
