Mt. Pleasant

Obituary

Sharon Victoria Davis Eaves, age 76, of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2023, in Mt. Pleasant.  Sharon was born August 14, 1946, in Mena, Arkansas, the second of four children, to Loyd Earnest Davis and Othae Edith Roberts Davis.

Sharon grew up in Mena and was a proud 1964 graduate of Mena High School.  In Mena, she and her running buddies, Jane, Linda, Joyce, Connie, and Teresa kept the streets hot "dragging main," having fun and getting into all kinds of mischief.  Sharon joined the United States Air Force in December of 1964.  Sharon, who could type and take shorthand (thanks to Mrs. Witherspoon), was trained as a medic.  She was stationed it Carswell AFB in Ft. Worth, Texas.  After leaving the Air Force, Sharon stayed in Texas to live in Dallas and work for General Motors.  She met Steve Eaves and they married February 9, 1979.  Sharon retired from General Motors with 30 years of service, interrupted by the years she worked as executive secretary to Jim Allee, owner of Allee Oldsmobile in Dallas.  After their retirement, Sharon and Steve moved to Mt. Pleasant, Texas where they enjoyed many years with family and friends.  Sharon will be remembered for her enthusiasm for living, her energy, her sense of humor, and her deep love for family, friends, and pets.  She could talk to anyone, anywhere without reservation.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Sharon was preceded in death by her father; brother, Gary L. Davis; brother-in-law, Clyde Heun; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Martha and Billy Craig; and nephew, Chris Craig.

Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Steve Eaves of Mt. Pleasant; mother, Othae Davis of Mena, Arkansas; mother-in-law, Meryle Eaves of Mt.
