Shaylah Cyndaine Nelson, age 12, of Marietta, Texas, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2019 at her home. Shaylah was born May 8, 2006 in Fort Bliss, Texas to Ryan David Nelson and Jennifer Dawn Roberts Nelson.

Shaylah was a student at Paul Pewitt Junior High School.  She enjoyed being involved in athletics and loved to sing.

Shaylah was preceded in death by her father, Ryan Nelson; and grandfathers, Bruce Roberts and David Nelson.

Survivors include her mother, Jennifer Nelson of Marietta; "Brad dad," Brad Barton of Lone Star; grandmothers, Vickie Roberts of Marietta and Sheli Nelson of Whitewright, Texas; two brothers, Zierin Nelson and Zaidin Nelson; two sisters, Riyah Nelson and Jenlah Nelson; bonus brother, Brady Barton; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives.

A memorial service for Shaylah will be held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at Paul Pewitt High School with Dr. Chas Carlisle officiating.
