Shirley Ann Tenbrook, age 82, passed away Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Grace Hill Nursing Facility in Hughes Springs, Texas.  She was born October 3, 1939, in Simms, Texas.  She was the daughter of Sam and Zuline Granberry.

Shirley graduated from James Bowie High School, where she excelled in basketball and volleyball.  Following graduation, she went to work at The Naples Monitor and soon married Bobby Tenbrook of Marietta.  They settled in Simms and raised their family there.  Shirley was very active in the community and the school, where she served as President of the Booster Club for many years.  She also became the first female basketball referee in the State of Texas.  She and Bobby enjoyed 31 years of marriage.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband.

Survivors include two daughters, Tammy Jeffries and husband Keith of Corinth, Texas, and Tina Moore and husband Clint of Hughes Springs; four grandchildren, Dylan Moore and Taylor Shields of Dallas, Texas, and Jake Moore and wife Shelby of Hughes Springs; one great-grandson, Emmett Grady Moore; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Harrison Funeral Home in Naples, Texas with Rev. Keith Lauter officiating.  Interment will follow at College Hill Cemetery in DeKalb, Texas.
