Stacey Wayne Whelchel, age 48, of Omaha, Texas, passed away Monday, July 1, 2019, in Dallas, Texas. Stacey was born May 1, 1971 in Naples, Texas to Billy Don Whelchel and Sharon Bonita Capps Whelchel.

In his earlier years, Stacey worked as a salesman.  He then went through school and became a licensed peace officer and worked as a security guard.  Stacey was a Baptist.  He was an avid gunsmith and enjoyed collecting guns.  He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding side by sides, and spending time with his family.

Stacey was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include his mother, Sharon Whelchel of Marietta, Texas; one sister and brother-in-law, Dana and Russell Shields of Naples; one stepdaughter, Emily Brazee of Portland, Maine; two nephews, Garrett Shields and Mason Shields; a special aunt, Connie Whelchel of Naples, special cousin, Kenny Whelchel of Naples; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Cornett Cemetery in Naples.
