William Stacy Smith, age 52, of Omaha, Texas, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2016 in a Mt. Pleasant, Texas hospital. Stacy was born April 21, 1964 in Naples, Texas to William Elsie Smith and Junetta Rose Stringer Smith.

Stacy was a member at the First United Methodist Church in Naples. He graduated Paul Pewitt High School in 1982, and then went on to receive his Bachelors of Science degree from East Texas State University in Commerce. He was a member of the Kappa Alpha Fraternity. Stacy enjoyed reading and watching sports. His sons were his life. He enjoyed camping and hiking with the boys.

Stacy was preceded in death by his father, Bill Smith.

Surviving family members include his mother, Junetta Whitecotton of Omaha; two sons, Will Smith and Travis Smith, both of Omaha; the mother of his children, Barbara Smith of Omaha; one aunt and uncle Carabeth and Randy Johnston of Omaha; and numerous other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, August 27, 2016 at the funeral home. Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 28, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church in Naples with Rev. Jay Barnes and Rev. Keith Lauter officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pewitt Alumni Association.
