James Stephen "Steve" Sims, age 62, of Omaha, Texas, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2019, in Mt. Pleasant, Texas.  Steve was born April 12, 1956, in Dallas, Texas, to James Ray Sims and Genevieve Yates Sims.

Steve was a member at First Baptist Church in Naples.  In his younger years, he worked as a jet fueler for American Airlines at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport.  Steve enjoyed watching TV, and he loved his animals.  He also enjoyed spending time with family.

Steve was preceded in death by his mother, Genevieve Pace.

Survivors include his father, Jim Sims of Omaha; one sister and brother-in-law, Jodie and Lynn Jinks of Omaha; nephew, Justin Jinks and wife Shannon of Omaha; niece, Jamie Cobb and husband Chris of Naples; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Harrison Funeral Home, Naples, Texas.
