Thelma Jo Hicks Boyd, age 84, of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, passed away Friday, March 24, 2023 at her home. Thelma was born April 7, 1938, in Naples, Texas, to Horace Buck Hicks and Thelma Helen Hampton Hicks.

Thelma was a Baptist.  She was a homemaker and devoted her life to her family.  She graduated Paul Pewitt High School in 1956.  Thelma enjoyed gardening, yardwork, and cooking.  She also enjoyed sewing and crocheting.

Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Joe "B.J." Boyd; her parents, Horace Hicks and Thelma Lewis; two sisters, Betty Stewart and Shirley Harvey; three sons-in-law, Robert Richardson, Rickey Moore, and Jimmy Belcher; and four grandchildren, Brittany Belcher, Aaron Belcher, Misty Belcher, and SSgt. Chauncy Mays.

Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Pam Richardson of Avinger, Texas, Tammy and Tommy Mays of Mt. Pleasant, and Lori Belcher and Ron Ethridge of Mt. Pleasant; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Lance Dwayne Boyd and fiancé Cate Turner or Mt. Pleasant, and Joey and Robin Boyd of Karnack, Texas; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ray and Melba Boyd of Mt. Pleasant, and Gordon and Nancy Boyd of Avinger; twenty-three grandchildren; forty-two great-grandchildren; twenty-seven great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at Harrison Funeral Home in Naples, Texas.  Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at Harrison Funeral Home in Naples with Bill Reese officiating.  Interment will follow at Naples Cemetery in Naples.
