Thelma Jean Reames, age 98, of Naples, Texas, passed away Saturday, February 7, 2026, in Mount Pleasant, Texas. Thelma was born December 2, 1927, in Cornett, Texas, to Lonnie Evans McCord and Donie Gibson McCord.

Thelma was a member of First Baptist Church Naples. She enjoyed cooking and tending to her rose garden and flower beds.

Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Garmon Reames; her parents; one son, David Reames; one brother, Lonnie McCord; and one sister, Robbie Davis.

Survivors include one daughter, Martha Powell of Naples; one daughter-in-law, Betty Reames of Omaha, Texas; five grandchildren, Rhonda Ehrlish and husband Brent of Omaha, Wendy Davis and husband Michael of Longview, Texas, Wade Powell and wife Sabrina of Bogata, Texas, Daniel Reames and wife Margarita of Mount Pleasant, and Jessica Rice and husband Mike of Naples; 10 great-grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Omaha Cemetery in Omaha with Rev. Yanckton Hatten officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Chambers Hospice.
